Get the kids outside!

Myopia is becoming so prevalent now that it is being referred to as an epidemic. Myopia , otherwise known as shortsightedness, has doubled in the US to 42% since the 1970s [1]. In Asian urban areas the incidence of myopia in children is between 80-90% [2]. Recent studies are showing a high correlation between device use, such as tablets and smart phones, and myopia.

Apart from needing glasses myopia can lead to other eye problems later in life and there is time and cost involved in correcting it. We are recommending that children cut down their screen time and spend more time outdoors.
For futher information on children’s vision and our 6-point vision check see the Bright eyes website.

Where children need glasses they are usually pretty rough on them and so we offer two for one on kids glasses.
